Your Fraxel Treatment
Once Fraxel is determined to be suitable for your skin and goals, your treatment begins. Your skin is cleansed and a topical anesthetic is applied to improve your comfort. The handheld applicator of the Fraxel device is passed over the desired area(s) multiple times. For the face, it can take about 30 minutes or so.
Once complete, your skin is cleansed again and treated with protective skincare products.
Is Fraxel Right for You?
If you’ve spent time outside without sunscreen, you might have skin damage. If you’re in your 30s or beyond, you might be starting to notice signs of aging. Laser treatments are a good way to manage these common skin concerns.
Laser treatments are very effective because they don’t just treat the outer layer of skin. They penetrate deep into the skin to rebuild collagen, making skin youthful and radiant. Fraxel is a treatment commonly used for this reason. If you want to kick-start your body’s collagen-building process, read on to learn more about the many benefits.
Because Fraxel treatments are done in sections – not the entire body at once – your body’s surrounding tissue stays put, allowing you to heal quickly. The skin is resurfaced to promote smooth, youthful-looking skin. Fraxel improves the texture and tone of your skin, removing any dimpling and discoloration. Hyperpigmentation – brown spots caused by excessive sun exposure – is dramatically reduced.
Fraxel is also helpful for reducing signs of aging. Fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet can be eliminated with regular Fraxel treatments. Fraxel can also reduce scars caused by acne and surgery. It promotes new, healthy cells from the inside out.
The entire process is quick and relatively painless. A Fraxel treatment takes about 20-25 minutes for the entire face. There may be slight discomfort after the treatment, but the feeling is similar to a sensation of heat, like sunburn. The skin will look bronzed afterward, but any pain typically goes away within a few hours. Swelling may last several days.
There is virtually no down time required after a Fraxel treatment. You can go back to work or participate in sports and social activities soon after a treatment.
There are many types of laser treatments available on the market. Consider everything before making the choice to use Fraxel.
